Laura Smolyar Earns Council-Certified Microbial Consultant (CMC) Credential

Citadel EHS announced that Laura Smolyar, an environmental services team member, has achieved the Council-Certified Microbial Consultant (CMC) designation from the American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC).

The CMC credential represents a peer-reviewed certification recognizing extensive knowledge and practical experience in microbial sampling and investigation. Smolyar completed a rigorous examination based on established industry standards and submitted documented project experience for peer evaluation, receiving unanimous board endorsement.

The credential carries accreditation from the Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB), validating her standing as an environmental health and safety professional. Her credentials appear in the ACAC's publicly searchable database of certified specialists, accessible to organizations nationwide.

Maintaining certification requires continued fieldwork and minimum 40 hours of professional development during the two-year renewal period — demonstrating ongoing dedication to the field and client service.
