Hyperscale Data Center Noise Assessment

Citadel EHS provides industrial hygiene and occupational noise consulting for hyperscale data center facilities operated by a global technology company. Citadel’s work includes assessments at data center facilities in Red Oak, Texas, and Bristow, Virginia, supporting the client’s efforts to understand and manage employee noise exposures within complex, continuously operating technology environments.

San Diego Unified School District

Citadel EHS, through its integration with Aurora Industrial Hygiene, provides ongoing hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, and environmental consulting to San Diego Unified School District in support of school modernization, renovation, remediation, and facility improvement projects across the District’s K-12 portfolio. Our teams have supported elementary, charter, and high school campuses throughout San Diego, helping the District address environmental conditions while maintaining safe, compliant, and well-documented construction programs.

Energy & Utilities

Exxon Refinery

From more than 10 years, Citadel EHS (Citadel) provided staff outsourcing to the Exxon Mobil refinery in Torrance, California. We maintained a full-time, on-site staff ranging from 5 to 14 employees to assist with regulatory interface and environmental compliance for Hazardous and Environmentally Regulated Materials (ERM), Industrial Hygiene, as well as general environmental management including database development and management.

Beyond Meat Food Innovation Facilities

Citadel EHS provided multi-site industrial hygiene and environmental health and safety consulting for Beyond Meat, supporting research and development, pilot plant, food laboratory, office, and related operating environments in California, Missouri, and Pennsylvania. The work focused on helping the client better understand workplace environmental conditions, ventilation performance, employee exposure, and cleaning effectiveness across a diverse portfolio of food innovation facilities.

Cacique Food Manufacturing Operations

Citadel EHS provided an industrial hygiene exposure assessment for Cacique, Inc. at its cheese manufacturing facility in City of Industry, California. The assessment focused on manufacturing processes involving the measuring, blending, and batching of food products by mixer operators, with the objective of evaluating potential employee exposure to airborne dust generated during production activities.

Bachem Pharmaceutical Manufacturing EHS Support

Citadel EHS provides Bachem Americas with industrial hygiene and EHS support for pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in Vista and Torrance, California. Across multiple engagements, Citadel has evaluated process-specific chemical exposures, tested local exhaust ventilation systems, developed potent-compound and API risk-management strategies, and provided flexible as-needed consulting support.

Life Sciences & Biotechnology

Illumina Multi-Site Confined Space Safety Assessment

Illumina, Inc. retained Citadel EHS to perform a comprehensive confined-space evaluation across four manufacturing sites in the Americas. The project was designed to identify and classify confined spaces under Cal/OSHA 8 CCR §5157 and Federal OSHA 29 CFR §1910.146, identify associated hazards, and develop recommendations for personal protective equipment and rescue methods.

Transportation

Port of Long Beach

Citadel EHS has supported construction and infrastructure projects at the Port of Long Beach for more than a decade, providing multidisciplinary environmental, health, safety, and sustainability services across complex, active waterfront environments. Working with the Port and its construction partners, Citadel helps project teams identify environmental risks, respond to unexpected field conditions, maintain regulatory compliance, protect workers, and keep critical construction activities moving.

Government

Santa Susana Field Lab

The Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL), located at 5800 Woolsey Canyon Road in Canoga Park, California, is a former U.S. government energy research and development facility. Although industrial operations ceased in 2006, the site contains residual radionuclide, soil, groundwater, and stormwater contamination. The responsible parties - Boeing, NASA, and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) - are conducting a comprehensive environmental cleanup to support long-term site restoration and safe future use.

Citadel EHS has provided industrial hygiene and indoor environmental quality consulting services for a health care facility client in Oregon since 2021, including occupational exposure evaluations, noise dosimetry, and technical review of facility-related health and safety concerns.

The Environmental Protection Agency has finalized regulations addressing occupational health risks from methylene chloride exposure, establishing new inhalation exposure concentration limits significantly lower than existing OSHA and Cal/OSHA standards.
