Healthcare System Occupational Exposure & Industrial Hygiene Consulting

Citadel EHS has provided industrial hygiene and indoor environmental quality consulting services for a health care facility client in Oregon since 2021. Assignments have included quantitative and qualitative industrial hygiene assessments, indoor air quality evaluations, occupational exposure evaluations, and technical review of facility-related health and safety concerns.

As one representative example, Citadel performed a noise dosimetry evaluation for one of the client's child health care facilities. The assessment evaluated employee noise exposures associated with patient transport activities involving ground transport, rotor aircraft, and fixed-wing aircraft. Citadel developed and delivered virtual training for the client's staff, prepared field instruction sheets and task description logs, provided noise dosimeters and calibration equipment for field use, reviewed collected data, evaluated results against OSHA noise exposure criteria, and prepared a written report with conclusions and recommendations related to hearing conservation, hearing protection, follow-up monitoring, and record retention.

Citadel has also supported the client with specialized industrial hygiene review of rooftop radiofrequency electromagnetic field documentation and roof access implications for employees and vendors. This work included document review, site reconnaissance, evaluation of access-control implications, and written recommendations for practical employee and vendor access controls.

This work demonstrates Citadel's ability to support complex occupational health and exposure concerns in active healthcare environments. From employee noise exposure during ground and air medical transport to radiofrequency considerations affecting rooftop access, Citadel develops practical assessment strategies that account for both regulatory requirements and real-world operations.
