Karen has practiced industrial hygiene for more than 20 years. She began her career as an Air Force Bioenvironmental Engineer, overseeing industrial hygiene, radiation safety, and drinking water monitoring for a large installation.
Her work spans asbestos and lead assessments, remediation oversight, chemical exposure and indoor air quality evaluations, OSHA audits, wildfire-response air monitoring, and noise assessments. A Certified Industrial Hygienist, Karen co-founded Aurora Industrial Hygiene in 1996 and led its San Diego practice, which joined Citadel EHS in 2026.
She is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Industrial Hygiene and a former chair of the AIHA Continuing Education Committee.
