A property at 991 Barracuda/350 Sardine that had historically housed a fish canning operation but had fallen into disrepair had been improved with four buildings measuring a total of roughly 85,500 square feet. Considering the older buildings were not usable, the Port of Los Angeles required that the buildings be demolished to make space for other Port-related uses. We were brought on as sub-consultants to Berg & Associates, an award-winning engineering and construction management firm, to provide air monitoring services during the removal of asbestos-containing materials and lead-based paints prior to demolition.
Our team of certified Asbestos consultants took on the challenge by reviewing pre-project submittals and inspecting engineering controls prior to the start of the abatement portion of the project. We provided project surveillance and inspection during all removal procedures, and reviewed waste handling activities with all employees. At the completion of the project, our team prepared a closeout report documenting all activities performed on site for the client’s future reference.
