Valley Generating Station

Citadel EHS (Citadel) was engaged by Silverado Contractors, Inc. to provide Environmentally Regulated Materials (ERMs) Consulting Services for the planned demolition of Units 1-4 at the Valley Generating Station, operated by LADWP, located at 11801 Sheldon Street, Sun Valley, California.

Citadel delivered comprehensive environmental consulting and monitoring services, tailored to the unique requirements of the Valley Generating Station. The team worked closely with Silverado Contractors and LADWP to validate and supplement prior environmental surveys, ensuring all materials impacted by demolition were properly identified and managed. Services included:

• Targeted Assessments: Identification and assessment of hazardous materials, including asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), lead-containing materials (LCMs), and other regulated substances.
• Abatement Monitoring: Ongoing monitoring and reporting throughout the abatement process, prioritizing safety and regulatory compliance.
• Health & Safety Plan: Development and implementation of a robust Health and Safety Plan, ensuring all site activities met the highest standards for worker and public safety.
• Regulatory Compliance: Coordination with regulatory agencies (SCAQMD, Cal/OSHA) and review of contractor certifications and notifications.
• Waste Disposal: Oversight of regulated asbestos and lead waste transport and disposal at Azusa Land Reclamation Landfill.
