Citadel EHS (Citadel) provided comprehensive environmental consulting services to the Rose Bowl Operating Company during the $152 million modernization of the historic Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California. Working alongside project stakeholders during one of the stadium's most significant capital improvement programs, Citadel helped support renovations designed to enhance the fan experience while preserving the character and historic integrity of this National Historic Landmark.
Citadel's multidisciplinary team evaluated existing hazardous materials documentation, including asbestos surveys, environmental monitoring reports, and Cal/OSHA correspondence, to identify potential environmental liabilities and support safe project planning throughout active construction. Our work included environmental site assessment services, hazardous materials consulting, development of comprehensive Asbestos and Lead Operations & Maintenance (O&M) programs, and regulatory guidance consistent with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommendations and California occupational safety requirements.
In addition to supporting environmental compliance during renovation activities, Citadel developed site-specific Asbestos Class IV Awareness Training and Lead Awareness Training programs for facility personnel performing maintenance and repair work in areas containing or potentially containing regulated building materials.
By integrating hazardous materials management, environmental planning, and workforce training, Citadel helped the Rose Bowl Operating Company reduce environmental risk, protect workers and contractors, and support the successful modernization of one of the nation's most recognizable sports and entertainment venues while maintaining compliance throughout the project.
